Sky shuts down the laptop

Sky doesn’t hesitate.

No message. No cable yank. No report.
Just a hard shutdown.

She holds the power button until the fans spin down and the screen goes black.

For a second, she breathes.

Maybe it worked.

Maybe cutting the power stopped whatever was happening.

Maybe…

But malware doesn’t wait for you to react.
It doesn’t need your permission to spread.

And by the time Baz reaches Sky’s desk, it’s already on Mo’s machine.
And Valeria’s.
And one of the shared drives.

Baz looks at the closed laptop.

“Too late,” he mutters.
“Nice instinct, but that doesn’t kill the payload. It just goes dark—for a bit.”

Sky says nothing.
She didn’t make it worse.
But She didn’t stop it either.

The breach is already in motion.

The shutdown ended Sky’s session, but not the infection.

Reflection:

Sometimes doing something feels right.
But only the right something stops the spread.

Sky acted fast.
But she was alone, untrained, and unsure.

And when the system leaves people in the dark, mistakes multiply.

Sometimes one click is all it takes... and you can’t take it back.
